Healer2Healer’s 2^nd Travel-Exchange to Guatemala (Dec 2011)

Hello H2H Group~

It is the first day after the end of the Mayan Calendar’s 9 Underworlds. How are you?

Dr. Susan Shumsky wrote that the 9th Wave of the Mayan Calendar began earlier this year. It is the cosmic countdown to the end of this calendar, which brings an end and new beginning to social, political, economic and geological cycles for the World.

“With increased interest in the Mayan calendar, people sense a coming great shift in consciousness. Shifts in consciousness have been happening from the beginning of time, whenever there is a significant energy shift in the Mayan calendar. Yet few people have considered that the fulfillment of the cosmic plan will require them to become co-creators with this plan.”

Apparently part of this cosmic plan, Healer2Healer was created to connect healing communities. Our 5^th trip (to Peru, barely two months ago) marked an important watershed: 1-year anniversary for our organization in terms of consciousness. In one year we brought a high quality of healing to nearly 1,500 indigenous in communities who would not have otherwise known we cared about them. Our group actively seeks symbiotic teaming with dentist groups, medical surgery groups, nurses, etc.

This is what ‘becoming co-creators of universal consciousness’ means. Become aware and take action; Do what your heart is pulling you toward to do. The Mayan prophesy of great change is unfolding now (e.g. Occupy the World!)… But you’ve always felt such energies building up and seething beneath for years, haven’t you?

Healer2Healer’s 6^th travel-exchange begins with the celebration of Unification Maya week, Dec 15-21, 2011 in the archeological sites of the ancient Mayan Empire, Tikal, Peten, Guatemala. “The ceremonies open the portals to Peace, Harmony, Love and Transformation. They are about consciousness, intent and heart; not about candles and incense. The ceremonies are for all people to connect as one heart. After Unification Maya week, Healer2Healer will conduct 2 days of training and 2 days of practice clinic, combined with local trips of cultural interest. We will be hosted at the Ixcanaan community clinic where we treated approximately 275 patients last year. We are expecting many more this year.

Please note: The more LAc’s that join our team, the more patients we can efficiently treat. Generally, patients are given ear acupuncture (Battlefield and/or NADA), Reiki, then body acupuncture when necessary. We are looking forward to any European licensed acupuncturists to join us, also! Interns and Students of Acupuncture and holistic therapies are deeply encouraged to apply! The intense nature and fast pace of community clinic is an environment where far more is “caught and taught” compared to a clinic shift at your acupuncture school. We train you to do ear, moxa, cupping protocols, and you learn the fundamentals of acu-points. Your caring hands are helpful in clinic! You learn by experience!

Schedules and Details

Dec 15-21: Unification Maya begins on Dec 15, 2011 with the sacred Mayan sunrise ceremony at Uaxactun (archeological site in Tikal National Park). Plan to travel on or before Dec 14. The week follows this schedule:

Dec 22-23 Training Classes
Healer2Healer’s team consists of qualified acupuncturists and Reiki Masters, who avidly teach their knowledge to students and other practitioners. Our class schedule includes: “Treating Indigenous Poplulations” (NCCAOM-approved CEU’s), auricular acupuncture, moxa, and cupping protocols, Reiki attunements, local herb information, treatment of epilepsy, ShoniShin pediatric techniques; others. We are confirming training with a group of nurses at a cancer hospital, for example. Exact schedule content will be posted.

Dec 24-25 Rest and Guatemala Exploration
These are family-centered holidays for Guatemalans in general. This two-day break allows participants to rest and tour Guatemalan points of touristic interest, as well as take in informational talks about Mayan Cosmology and history, for example. Much farther south is situated Antigua (preserved former colonial capital). There will be much to do and see.

Dec 26-30 Clinic week
By the time clinic week begins, you will be refreshed and ready to treat the 50+ patients who line up daily for acupuncture and Reiki treatments. We are expecting approximately 400. Patients are triaged and treated accordingly. The small community clinic at Ixcaanan is headed by Dr. Enrique, who is donating his space to H2H to treat patients. http://ixanaan.com/

The Package
All options include accommodations and all meals, inland shuttle, training, supervision, clinic supplies, classes, participation certificate, CEU certificate for LAc’s, UM package (transport, lunch, candles) when applicable, last night at Mercure Hotel Casa Veranda Guatemala (double occup, b’fast, shuttle). Does not include airfare.
